Voucher Program for Textbook Purchasing

 

HOW TO PURCHASE TEXTBOOKS USING YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT

This guide outlines how to use your Student Financial Aid (SFA) voucher to purchase textbooks through the BNC Virtual website.

Step 1: Prepare Your Account

Before you can use your voucher, you must complete the following:

  1. Select Voucher Amount: Go to "Bookstore Account" in Registration Central and select your desired voucher amount.
  2. Complete the Financial Plan: In Registration Central, navigate to "Registration Steps" and complete the "Financial Plan" section. The “Financial Plan” is automatically checked off once all preceding boxes are checked.
  3. Create a BNC Virtual Account:
  • Go to: bncvirtual.com/andrews
  • Click: "Log In to Your Account" (top-left corner).
  • Create: Under "New Customers," fill in the required information using your Andrews University email address.
  • Explore: Once logged in, click "Let's Get Started" (located on the home page) to add your courses, view available materials, etc. Click here for a video tutorial.

Step 2: Accessing and Using Your Voucher

Wait for Email: After Andrews University submits your information to BNC Virtual, you will receive a voucher ID by email (typically within 1–2 business days).

Log In to BNC Virtual:

Redeem Your Voucher:

  • Click: "Bookstore Voucher" (top-right corner).
  • Enter: Your Andrews University ID and Voucher ID.

Shop and Apply Voucher:

  • You'll see your voucher balance. Now you can add your course materials to your cart and proceed through checkout. Your voucher will be applied to your eligible purchases.
  • Note: If your order total exceeds your voucher or includes non-covered items, you'll be prompted to pay the remaining balance with a credit/debit card.

Important Information About Your SFA Voucher:

What it covers: SFA vouchers typically cover required textbooks (new, used and rentals). Other items might not be covered. See your voucher details on BNC Virtual.

Marketplace: Vouchers can be used for Marketplace orders.

Shipping: Shipping coverage varies by voucher. See your voucher details on BNC Virtual.

Non-required Materials: Eligibility for non-required materials varies. Check your voucher details on BNC Virtual.


TROUBLESHOOTING & FAQs

Voucher Not Showing Up?

  • After Andrews submits your details, it takes 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays) for BNC Virtual to process.
  • If your voucher is still not visible after that time, contact the Andrews Bookstore at aubookstore@andrews.edu.

Error Messages:

  • Wait 48 hours after voucher activation and check again.
  • Clear your browser's cookies/cache, try a different browser or open a private/incognito window.
  • If problems persist, contact the Andrews Bookstore.

Voucher Balance & Expiration:

  • How much is on my voucher? Log in to your BNC Virtual account to see your balance.
  • When are my funds available? Once your voucher details have been processed by BNC Virtual (1–2 business days). You'll get an email with your Voucher ID when the funds are ready.
  • Expired Funds: Contact Student Financial Services if your funds have expired.
  • Unused Funds: BNC Virtual does not issue credits on unused voucher funds.
  • Financial Aid Type: If you are unsure about whether your financial aid needs to be paid back, contact Student Financial Services.

Who to Contact:

  • Voucher Questions: BNC Virtual cannot help with financial aid questions; they only manage the voucher amount. For issues related to your voucher, eligible funds, allowances, exclusions or expiration, contact Student Financial Services at 269-471-3334 or sfs@andrews.edu.
  • Technical Issues or Bookstore Support: For questions about your account on BNC Virtual or purchase issues, contact the Andrews Bookstore at aubookstore@andrews.edu.

Purchasing without a Voucher:
