- Worked for seventeen years as an accomplished
instructor in the Social Studies at the secondary level.
- Taught successfully in a university teacher preparation
program for several years.
- Took the following courses which have provided a strong
background in instructional management: "Curriculum Development,"
"Supervision of Instruction," "Opening Doors to School Improvement,"
"Philosophical Foundations of Education," "Historical Foundations of
Education," and "Reading in the Content Areas."
- Developed individual educational plans for secondary
social studies students with special needs.
- Provided opportunities for students to use their own
creativity and individuality in creating class projects.
- Worked with the Director of Student Services at Andrews
Academy and personnel from the Berrien County Intermediate School District
in developing Individual Education Plans for my advisees and/or students
in class.
- Received the Zapara Award for Excellence in Teaching.
- Nominated to Who's Who Among American Teachers.
- Nominated for a Golden Acorn Award for Excellence in
Teaching.
