About Agribusiness

The word "agriculture" makes most people picture fields of corn and John Deere tractors. But if you think that's all there is to agriculture, you're in for a big surprise.  At Andrews University, you'll discover that agriculture encompasses much more than just planting crops. In fact, while the agriculture industry employs 17% of the population, only 2% are actively involved in the production of food. Offering a blend of horticulture, animal science, and business, an agribusiness degree gives you a more unified, "big picture" perspective on the agriculture industry as a whole.

You will prepare to work for the hundreds of feed, fertilizer, seed, and equipment companies that are hunting for agriculture graduates to fill marketing, financing, sales, and management positions. You could also be self-employed, traveling the world as a commodities market analyst and consultant. Or if you are more attracted to the scientific aspect of agricultural production, an agribusiness degree can pave the way for graduate work and a research and development career in areas like soil science and seed genetics.
