Biography

Erhard Gallos is an assistant professor of Religion at Andrews University. He pastored in Germany for six years before coming to Andrews University. He joined the faculty in 2008 and teaches New Testament courses, Greek, Ethics, Hermeneutics, and SDA Heritage and the Gift of Prophecy. His focus of intense study has been in the book of Hebrews and his PhD dissertation was on the Sabbath-rest of Hebrews 4.

In addition to being a passionate teacher and student of God's word, Erhard loves spending times with his wife, Irmgard and adult twin daughters, Dorothea and Christiane.
In early 2020, Erhard Gallos wrote the Teachers Edition of the Adult Sabbath School for 2022.

Current Research or Professional Activities

  • Recently, he has published two commentaries on the Epistle of James and Jude for the Andrews Bible Commentary.
  • Furthermore, he authored the chapter “Sabbath Rest in Hebrews 4” in The Sabbath in the New Testament and Theology (Biblical Research Institute: Silver Spring, MD, 2023) by Ekkehardt Mueller and Eike Mueller (editors).
  • In spring of 2024, he wrote an article for the upcoming Biblical Research Institute’s book on the topic of the Trinity entitled “Does the Spirit Coming upon Mary in Luke 1:35 Employ Sexual Imagery?”
