  • Using array formulas to perform complex calculations
  • Working with logical functions like IF, AND, OR, and NOT
  • Using lookup functions like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and INDEX-MATCH
  • Nesting functions to create more complex formulas

Day 2:

Data analysis using PivotTables and PivotCharts

  • Creating PivotTables from multiple data sources
  • Using calculated fields and calculated items
  • Formatting PivotTables for better readability
  • Creating advanced PivotCharts with multiple data series

Day 3:

Advanced charting and visualization techniques

  • Creating dynamic charts with dropdown menus and sliders
  • Using sparklines to visualize trends
  • Creating heat maps and conditional formatting to highlight important data points
  • Using data bars, icon sets, and color scales for better data visualization

Day 4

Data validation and conditional formatting

  • Setting up data validation rules to prevent data entry errors
  • Using conditional formatting to highlight cells that meet certain criteria
  • Creating custom conditional formatting rules based on specific data values

Day 5

Macros and VBA programming

  • Recording and editing macros

Betty Gibson is an accomplished associate professor of Information Systems and computer science with over two decades of experience in academia. Currently serving at Andrews University, she specializes in Data Analytics, Data Science, and business software systems. Betty has an exceptional track record in teaching and has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to education.

Aside from her teaching responsibilities, Betty is also an active member of the Andrews University Senate and the School of Business Administration team. As an Information Systems program coordinator, she plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the program and ensuring its continued growth and success.

Betty's passion for community involvement and giving back to society is reflected in her work as an Enactus sponsor. She is deeply committed to empowering students to make a positive impact on their communities through entrepreneurial projects and initiatives.
