Fillip Portrait
Good ol' Fil, our class president and good friend, came into my room one night complaining that he needed a picture of himself for something or rather. I told him that's great cause I still need pictures for my photography project! Unfortunately, when we were finished shooting I realized my camera's setting were still set for a previous project. So all the pictures turned out really orange and with an incredible amount of noise. I did everything I could to remove the color cast, but to no avail. So decided to go black and white and just kept playing with it. In the end it turned out really well. This was the photo that opened my eyes to the power of dodgning and burning since I had never really played much with that previously.

Intro to Photography Class
Finally, with the move to college here my Freshman year, I had the opportunity to take a photography class. I seemed, however, to be cused with bad luck from the first day of class right up till the last day. It was really unfortunate since I had looked forward to it for so long. For instance a variety of factors kept me from being able to acquire a film camera. So I always had to borrow someone else's after they were done, usually giving me only a half hour to shoot an entire roll or two of pictures. Things picked up slightly once we moved to digital since I could use my own camera.
