Brian E. Strayer History & Political Science Research and Travel Endowed Scholarship Fund
Dr. Brian Strayer has created the Brian E. Strayer History & Political Science Research and Travel Endowed Scholarship Fund to assist students with expenses to conduct research, acquire necessary materials, and present papers at professional conferences. Dr. Strayer has generously started our efforts with $10,000, but we need YOUR help to reach our goal. As a personal thank you for your donation, the first $100 donor will receive a miniature replica of Chartres Cathedral’s stained glass rose window from Dr. Strayer’s office; the goldframed portrait of Louis XIV by Hyacinthe Rigaud that hung in his office will be the gift for the first $500 donor; the first $1000 donor will receive a framed Roman Catholic indulgence. Those who give $5000 will receive one of the swords he regularly brought to class. While gifts greater than $100 are eagerly sought, modest donations are also deeply appreciated.
For each donation of $50, a book from Strayer’s office shelves (French, English, American, or SDA history with Dr. Strayer’s autograph) will be sent. Will you help us reach our goal? Please send your check, made out to “Andrews University” with “Strayer Endowed Fund” on the subject line, to: Office of Development, Andrews University, Griggs Hall B213, 8903 U.S. 31, Berrien Springs, MI 49104 (AU employees may use payroll deduction). Future issues of Footnotes will update how the Brian E. Strayer History & Political Science Research and Travel Endowed Scholarship Fund is growing!
