Program Highlights

Requirements

  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from a college or university with regional or national accreditation for a current MLT program
  • 2 years of full-time clinical experience in an acceptable laboratory within the last 5 years
  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • A minimum math and science GPA of 2.5
  • At least 16 semester credits each in biology and chemistry, and one college math class.
  • English language proficiency if transfer credits were completed in a non-English institution

Costs & Deadlines

Tuition & Fees

  • Application fee: $30
  • Tuition: $450 per credit (1-4 cr per class)
  • Professional fee: $250 per semester
  • Distance fee: $155 per semester
  • Textbooks: average of $100 per class

Application Deadlines

  • Students needing to complete Andrews Core Experience (ACE) requirements and preclinical courses apply for entry points in August and January as follows:
    • July 15th for Fall Semester
    • November 15th for Spring Semester

What to Expect

  • The degree program requirements are:
    • Remainder Andrews Core Experience (ACE) requirements
    • MLS Pre-Clinical courses (9 - 12 credits)
    • Applications to the MLS Clinical Year are due January 31st of the year you plan to begin the MLS Clinical Year program with rolling admissions until June 1st.
    • MLS Clinical Year Program (3 semesters/47 credits)
  • Upon completion students receive MLS Certificate (no degree is awarded) and are eligible to write the national Board of Certification sponsored by the ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology).
  • The MLT to BSMLS Program (3 semesters) qualifies post-baccalaureate students for eligibility to write the national certification examination.
