The DScOT is a doctoral degree for occupational therapists seeking advanced roles as educators, leaders, and researchers. It includes the study of human occupation, interprofessional collaboration, and prepares graduates to teach, conduct scholarly research, and lead clinical practice. The program offers both full and part-time options, an interactive online format, and some on-campus intensives for students entering with bachelor's or master's degrees.

The Doctor of Occupational Therapy program has two application deadlines, and applicants must meet specific criteria, including a minimum 3.0 GPA, a current occupational therapy license, and at least 2 years of full-time work experience as an occupational therapist. Other requirements include letters of recommendation, a professional summary, and academic transcripts, and non-native English speakers must submit English proficiency scores.

Our curriculum covers a range of topics, including scholarly writing, grant writing, clinical pharmacology, clinical research, professional communication and consulting, and applied research in occupational therapy. Students can take these courses on-campus or online, depending on availability. Some courses are elective, and some have prerequisites.

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences has a reduced tuition rate of $735 per credit, plus additional fees of $255 professional fee and $155 distance education fee per semester. Financial aid, including graduate assistantships, scholarships, loans, and payment plans, is available through the FAFSA and Andrews University website.
