Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun. It is also the least dense planet in the solar system. Saturn’s atmosphere consists mostly of hydrogen and helium like Jupiter. Saturn doesn’t have a solid surface but it may have a solid core. Even though Saturn doesn't have conditions that could support life as we know it, it has 62 moons and some of them have conditions that might be able to support life. Three spacecraft have flown by Saturn: Pioneer 11 and Voyagers 1 and 2. A fourth spacecraft, Cassini orbited Saturn from 2004 to 2017 and was intentionally vaporized in Saturn's atmosphere in 2017. Saturn’s most prominent feature is probably its ring system. Saturn has seven large groups of rings. These seven groups contain the thousands of rings of Saturn that are made up of ice, rock, and dust particles (NASA).
